INSTALLATION AND LAUNCH OF THE NEAR INFRA RED (NIR) SPECTOMETER

Greater Accra Poultry Farmers Association (GAPFA), through the assistance of Export Trade, Agricultural and Industrial Development Fund (EDAIF) has acquired feed testing equipment from the United Kingdom. The equipment is called the Near Infra Red Spectrometer.
The equipment which is currently in operation was commissioned on the 22nd of March, 2016  by Hon.Dr. Hanna Bisiw, Deputy Minister of Agriculture. She was assisted by Mrs. Cynthia Addo of EDAIF

The equipment is to test all the feed ingredients and also ensure the accuracy and reliability. Thus, GAPFA’s feed quality is greatly enhance and the ultimate beneficiaries are the farmers who purchase their feed from GAPFA. A room has been dedicated specifically for the equipment.
A Standard Operating Procedure has also been developed to ensure that workers adhere strictly to the accepted standards.
